Great start in 2011
Double success for Mindelheim
26 January 2011
Last Saturday, 22 January 2011, the two adult teams of Badminton Club TSV Mindelheim started into the second round of the season. At 2.00 pm our 2nd team met the team of Trunkelsberg. We won two points (ladies' doubles (Mindelheim: Hannah Micheler and Katja Schneider) and ladies' singles (Hannah Micheler)) because Trunkelsberg arrived with just one woman. The men Dominik Hofmann, Thomas Metzeler and Simon Tuglu played very well and snatched the next 3 points for our club. Also the mens doubles (Thomas Metzeler and Simon Tuglu) flowed smoothly. In contrary the mens doubles of Dominik Hofmann and Tobias Seidel. They had to give one point to the adversarial team. The mixed with Katja Schneider and Tobias Seidel helped us to reach the 7:1 victory.
Our 1st team met Memmingen just 2 hours later. Coincidentally one woman was missing, too, to the adversarial team. The ladies' doubles (Miriam Baulechner and Carina Manlig) plus the ladies' singles were won by default. The first mens doubles (Michael Prongratz and Tobias Kienle) flowed smoothly. In the second mens doubles they had to fight harder but in the end they won. The mens singles of Tobias Kienle and Dominik Egger also saved two points for Mindelheim. Just Andreas Klemm had to fight hardly and was piped by his opponent. Michael Pongratz and Miriam Baulechner (mixed) won at a canter and got so the 7th point for their team.
It was a successful day for us and we hope for many other victories for our teams of Badminton Club Mindelheim.

Surprise party for Doris
20 years of 1. directorate
02 July 2010
Last Friday, 02 July 2010, the badminton players from Mindelheim celebrated a special party. As our Doris gave up her job as 1. directorate to Miriam Baulechner, Miri had a terrific idea. Last Friday this idea became a surprise party, like the club hasn´t experienced for a long time.
Lasting for weeks we planned, did handicrafts, invited and trembled, but everybody kept the secret. When Miris car with Doris on her side came into the slip road, Doris couldn´t nearly imagine what was planned. So much bigger was the surprise, when suddenly more than 50 guests with champagne glasses came out of garage. We could see the surprise in her face.
But it wasn´t all. After clinking glasses, Doris froze with a face of disbelief. Why? We had asked some of our Frensh friends from Bourg de Péage if they would take part in the party. And they did!
When everybody calmed down we took Doris aside and thanked for past years. The arduousness and the time, which she invested into our club. After a fantastic speech from Miri we gave her our presents. A bunch of flowers, completely orange (her favourite colour), and a big self sewed elk-pillow. Everybody in the club knows that it's her favourite animal.
Following we had a barbecue, we celebrated and laughed. This evening we'll be remembered very long!

Club championship 2010
Mindelheim
19 June 2010
On Saturday, 19 June 2010, club championship took place in Mindelheim. In two disciplines (single, double) our "little ones" (age group 1993 and younger) could show what they've learned. Even our youngest, who play just few weeks, played very well.
In single we sepearted the players in 6 groups, in double in 4. The games of our oldest ones have been very great to watch. Our initial placings in single are:
- Florian Schiegg (Jugend A)
- Andreas Pietzke (Jugend B)
- Hannah Leuerer (Schüler A)
- Lennox Whiteyman (Schüler B)
- Tim Eisenacher (Mini A)
- Katharina Deeg (Mini B)
The doubles were great. The final game D. Hörtrich - F. Schiegg / Y. Mayer - F. Dittmann had to be broken in the second match cause of an injure. The final game S. Jousma - H. Lauerer / M. Abbold - N. Hofmann was also very exciting until the end. Our youngest, the Eisenacher-twins, won all of their 3 doubles competently.
- Florian Schiegg / Dennis HÖrtrich (Jugend)
- Miriam Abbold / Natalie Hofmann (Schüler B)
- Dominik Glas / Katharina Deeg (Schüler C)
- Tim Eisenacher / Lars Eisenacher (Minis)
Thanks to everybody, who helped, so the tournament was fun for everyone. Thanks to all the parens, who provided us with cake and thanks to our older active players, who helped by counting the games and the complete process of the tournament.

In mixed teams the German and Frensh sportsmen and sportswomen played the whole Saturday in two different classes against teams from Bavaria.
At 9 pm the Bavarian evening started in the accommodation. After speeches from directorate Miriam Baulechner and president Nicolas Blanc, the presents were bandied.
On Sunday we did an excursion. In the morning we went bowling. At noontime we had a pizza-party in the accommodation, and after we enjoyed a guidance in the church clock museum of Mindelheim, which was given by the mayor Dr. Stephan Winter. The last together dinner came quick. The evening was finished by a big thank you from Nicolas Blanc. We are really looking forward to visit Bourg de Péage in 2011.
