Our partner team in Bourg de Péage

More then 700 km away from Mindelheim is Bourg de Péage. It's the Rhônes-Alpes area, 20km away from Valence, capital of Départements Drôme.

In Middel Ages there was a bridge tariff in the community. Passengers had to pay the tollkeeper for passing the Isére. The stony bridge was kept with this money. The bridge and the buildings around were destroyed in the 2. world war. These historic buildings were copied and today they are a tourist attraction.

In 1961 mayor of Mindelheim Franz Krach and mayor of Bourg de Péage Henri Durand signed the certificates of partnership.

Except with Mindelheim (Bavaria, Germany) Bourg de Péage has partnerships with Verbania (Piedmont, Italy), Schwaz (Tyrol, Austria), East Grinstead (West Sussex, England), Guixols (Baix Empordà, Katalonien) and Ville de Shawinigan (Québec, Canada).

Since 1977 the Badminton Club TSV Mindelheim has cultivated a friendship with our sister city in Bourg de Péage. Once per year we meet in Mindelheim or Bourg de Péage and challenge a tournament together. In mixed teams we strengthen our friendship and trustfulness, which exist between the towns for many years. On the few together evenings we get to know the Frensh manners and try to teach the German and Bavarian usages to our Frensh friends.

This year we were glad to welcome the badminton players from Bourg de Péage in Mindelheim on May 13th - May 17th. It was a time of happiness!
